Ahoy Mates!
It was 2009 last I wrote and now I've got heaps of news for
you! To start, UKE Republic now has a FaceBook Fan Page,
where we will post the most up-to-date news and goings on in
Ukuleledom and fans can share pictures, links, comments and
replies to the discussion board (content that is relevant to
the realm of ukuleles/music). We appreciate your support!
Please spread the ukulele love and become a fan and suggest
the page to your friends.
It's just the first month of the new year and so much news
in Ukuleledom is rolling in:

Big Island (Honu)
Known for it's Honu Koa Ukes, Big Island will soon bring
high quality solid mahogany ukuleles to market. Expect some
great quality at competitive prices in two finishes, satin
and gloss. Tenor Deluxe Gloss MSRP - $359.99, Soprano Satin

Pono by Ko'olau
Pono has unveiled it's 2010 models. Wow! More wonderful
ukuleles from Ko'olau/Pono. We have one of the Maple Series
in and it's nothing less than a pleasure to play. Other
models include:
Stock should be available in February.

Ko'olau also makes some absolutely gorgeous custom ukuleles,
which UKE Republic would be happy to coordinate your order.
Choices abound with beautiful tone woods and custom abalone
inlays and much more!

Vento Music
A new discovery I came across while exploring the realm of
Ukuleledom - a custom ukulele builder from Hilo, Hawaii,
Vento Music. A very small operation producing high quality
instruments. UKE Republic can have a custom uke built just
for you!

Mainland UKES
Mainland now has good stock of Cedar and Mahogany ukuleles
in. Mainland gives you a choice with tuner options (color).
Baritones in Mahogany are available now.
Banjo Ukuleles coming soon from Mainland UKES!

Makai
Makai will unveil their new limited series in February.
Mango, Maple, and Marble wood will be part of the new
lineup. Pictures and specs will be posted soon.

Kala
Kala brings us the U-Bass in Acacia, Mahogany, and
Spruce/Mahogany for 2010. Also in the new lineup:

Reggae Ukes in Soprano & Tenor
Concert size Travel Uke
The Exotic Mahogany Series
Butterfly Uke - made of Bocote (also called Mexican
Rosewood) arriving in the spring
Pocket Uke available Feb/March in Mahogany & Acacia

We carry the full line of accessories from Kala including
uke straps, cases, Kala Red Strings, and the much applauded,
Kala KC02 Clip-On Digital Tuners (at $20).

Ohana
Ohana's Maple/Spruce has been well received! A beautiful
instrument with beautiful sound.

Ohana is also adding to the 2010 lineup with a concert size
Zebra Wood, available soon! These will feature geared
tuners. Also a new hardcase for the beloved Sopranino,
should be available in February.

RipTide by Boulder Creek
Boulder Creek featured their RipTide ukes here at the UKE
Republic in December. They have proved to have great tone
and quality construction. The model with pickups have a
built in tuner.

LoPrinzi
We are honored and excited to carry LoPrinzi Ukuleles!
Another great company from Clearwater Florida. LoPrinzi
instruments are of the highest quality. Augustino Loprinzi
has been called the Stratavarius of his time. We will have
in stock the solid cherry line in February.

Blackbird Guitars
Another great find in my travels. Featuring their all new
Carbon Fiber Ukulele - a true sea-worthy instrument! These
should be arriving at the port of UKE Republic sometime in
March.

UKE Republic is holding it's first contest!
